Mozambique is situated on the south-east coast of Africa has an estimated population of over 30 million people and is a member of the British Commonwealth.

The country has a tropical climate, is rich in natural minerals, suffers from drought and flooding and is now one of the fastest growing African countries after enduring a long and intense civil war.
Its coastline edges the Indian Ocean which offers a major deep water port in it’s capital Maputo and provides an abundance of fish for the many fishing fleets situated along the coast.

The official language is Portuguese however many people speak English especially in the capital city Maputo. Huge, modern buildings can be seen next to crumbling art-deco mansions, there is a European café culture with a vibrant African mix and a great multi-cultural atmosphere.
